Navigation is closed between Lock 1 and Lock 2 on the Leigh Branch to allow repairs to the head gates cills on both locks. These works are required to help prevent further water loss.
Works are scheduled to begin on the lock gates from 7:00 am on Thursday, 22 October 2026 and are expected to take two weeks to complete.
Boaters are requested to remain on either side of the affected locks and wait until the repairs have been completed before proceeding.
A further update will be provided on or before Thursday, 5 November 2026.
