The towpath is closed between Bridge 7 and Bridge 8, on the Rufford Branch of the Leeds & Liverpool Canal due to a fallen tree.
Contractors have been instructed to attend the site and carry out the necessary works to safely remove the tree.
An update will be provided tomorrow, Tuesday 29 September.
