Third-party contractors will be onsite at Bridge 2A (Stanley Road Bridge) on the Leeds & Liverpool Canal to begin the first phase of regeneration works at Bootle Strand Shopping Centre.
The works will take place from 8 am on Monday, 21 September 2026, until 5 pm on Sunday, 31 October 2027.
During this period, the towpath will be closed at Bridge 2A to maintain a safe working environment.
A diversion route will be in place for the duration of the works.
Navigation is still possible through the area and boaters should approach with caution and follow any advice given by the contractors.
