Waterway Notices / Sykehouse Road Bridge - Closed

Sykehouse Road Bridge had become stuck in the raised position, preventing road traffic from passing. Our team has now lowered the bridge, allowing road traffic to pass. However, the pump required to raise the bridge has failed, and the bridge will therefore remain in the lowered position until the issue is resolved and is currently closed for passage for boaters

Our contractor is attending the site to investigate and carry out the necessary repairs.

This notice will be updated once the bridge is fully operational again. We apologise for any inconvenience caused and thank you for your patience and understanding.

Sykehouse Road Bridge is currently stuck in the up position, blocking road traffic.

We have our Contractor attending to the site to resolve the issue, so there may be a delays experienced whilst the issue with the bridge are being resolved.
