Since our previous update our team now have the materials to repair the damaged paddle.

However, additional stop planks are required to ensure the repairs can be carried out safely. These are being sourced and when delivered repairs can begin.

A further update will be provided on or before Thursday 8 October.

Since our last update, our team has attended the site at Lock 4 on the Glasson Branch and identified a suitable method of repair.

Our team is now awaiting delivery of the materials required to repair the damaged paddle. Once these materials have been received, a date for the repairs to begin will be confirmed.

Our next update will be provided on or before Thursday, 24 September.

Navigation is currently closed at Lock 4 on the Glasson Branch of the Lancaster Canal due to a damaged paddle, which is preventing the lock from filling.

Our team is attending site today to inspect the damaged paddle. Once the inspection has been completed, the team will be able to determine the most appropriate method of repair and establish a timescale for the works.
