One of the balance beams on the top gates at Lock 34 (Boggs Lock) has broken, and the lock is currently inoperable. The paddles will be locked off, and signage will be installed on site to advise customers of the issue. Engineers are scheduled to attend site on 01/09/26 to assess the damage and develop a repair plan. A further update will be provided once the engineers have attended and the extent of the repairs has been determined.
