Waterway Notices / Old Main Line - Coseley Tunnel, North Portal,

Due to the recent heavy rainfall, part of the embankment on the north portal side of Coseley Tunnel has been washed into the navigation, creating an underwater obstruction. Boaters are advised to pass on the right hand side of the navigation when approaching the north portal of the tunnel, and on the left hand side when exiting the north portal. The obstruction is approximately 30 metres from Turnover Bridge North, Coseley Tunnel. Please approach the area with caution and proceed slowly. Our engineers are due to attend site within the next few days to assess the obstruction and determine the works required. A further update will be provided as soon as more information is available.
