Our local team has completed repairs to the lock mechanism at Lock 75 (Big Lock) on the Trent & Mersey Canal.
However the paddle remains stiff to operate and is currently restricted to opening halfway, whilst the components settle into place. Over the next two weeks, our local team will continue to monitor and inspect the paddle to ensure the newly installed components function as intended.
Passage through the lock remains possible.
A further update will be provided on or before Thursday 17 September.

Navigation at Lock 75, Big Lock on the Trent and Mersey Canal is currently restricted due to a fault with the lock mechanism, which is causing the paddle to partially open. Our local team are currently investigating the issue and planning a method of repair
Although the canal remains open to navigation, customers are asked to approach the area with caution and follow any instructions provided by our staff or contractors on site.
