Navigation remains closed between Lock 65 and Lock 85 on the Wigan Flight of the Leeds & Liverpool Canal.

Our team are looking to start the repairs to the detached head cill at Lock 69 week commencing Monday 7 September. Repairs are expected to take one week.

A further update will be provided on or before Monday 14 September.

Navigation remains closed between Lock 65 and Lock 85 on the Wigan Flight of the Leeds & Liverpool Canal due to a detached cill at lock 69.

Our local team have carried out inspections of the head cill and have planned a method of repair. However, works have been delayed due to other priority jobs along the network and we anticipate the repairs to begin on the week commencing 31st August.

A further update will be provided on or before Tuesday 1 September.

Due to the head cill at lock 69 that has become detached. Our local team are on their way to inspect the damage and plan a method of repair.
