Our local team has successfully raised the water levels between Locks 67 and 71 on the Trent and Mersey Canal, and navigation has now resumed.
However, in order to protect against further loss of water, lock 67 to lock 71 will be closed daily at 4pm and reopen the following morning from 9am until further notice.
A further update will be provided on or before Monday 7 September.

The closure of Locks 67 and Lock 71 has now been lifted and navigation has resumed.
Our Local team have worked hard to raise water levels sufficiently for safe passage. However, in order to protect against further loss of water, lock 67 to lock 71 will close daily at 4pm and reopen the following morning from 8am until further notice.

Due to continued low water levels, the navigation closure has been widened and now extends from Lock 67 to Lock 71.
Our local team are working hard to restore water levels and navigation will remain closed until there is sufficient depth for safe navigation.

Navigation is closed from Lock 67 to Lock 70 on the Trent & Mersey Canal due to low waters, where the paddles have been left open.
To allow the water levels to recover, navigation will remain closed until further notice.
