A section of the towpath, footpath 33, which is also a public right of way has been closed by the local highways authority for public safety during the replacement of the local authority footbridge.
The closure was due to end on the 23rd August, however, this has now been extended until 23rd September.
The existing towpath diversion route between Lawrence Street and the B6540 Tamworth road will be in place until 23rd September.
