Repairs to Froghall Basin Lock have now been scheduled. Works are currently planned to commence during the week commencing 14 September 2026 and are expected to take approximately six weeks, with completion anticipated by 23 October 2026, subject to conditions on site.

Please also be advised that the car park adjacent to the lock will be closed for the duration of the works to facilitate contractor welfare facilities and site parking requirements.

Following an inspection, Froghall Basin Lock has been closed to navigation as a precautionary measure due to concerns regarding the structural integrity of the top gate.

The lock will remain closed until repairs can be undertaken. These repairs are currently planned to take place during the forthcoming winter stoppage programme.
