Waterway Notices / Ferrybridge Flood Lock to Goole - Water Levels To Be Lowered by 300mm

As the leak at Great Heck is still evident, the water levels along the Aire and Calder Navigation will continue to be lowered by approximately 300mm from Ferrybridge Floodgate to Goole. Further works to investigate and repair the leak are scheduled to take place next week. As a result, water levels in this area, as well as on the New Junction Canal towards Sykehouse Lock, will vary from next week while the works are being carried out.

Boaters moored in these areas are asked to ensure that their mooring ropes are loosened accordingly and regularly checked as water levels change.

We will provide further updates as soon as more information is available and will update this notice once we have further details regarding the works and water levels

This lowering of the water levels is likely to remain in place for up to seven days.
