The repair was successful in stemming a large amount of the water entering the lock chamber. We can now recommence operating the lock when the river level is below that of the canal. Some further remedial works are still required to allow us to use the lock at the lowest levels. Therefore, we will only currently accept bookings from up river, leaving West Stockwith Lock or Gainsborough Pontoon. Bookings from down river should be unaffected. A navigation closure is required as a redundant paddle is leaking and causing significant operational issues, which have rendered the lock inoperable.

An initial repair was unsuccessful and a further stoppage is now required to carry out additional works. During the stoppage we will undertake further repairs to blank off the leaking paddle outlets and restore the lock to operation.
