The ground paddle has been repaired and the gates have been lined. The gates still leak below the water, increasing the time it takes for the lock to fill. Operatives will return in the morning to complete the repair. Once we have a further update we will update this notice accordingly. Thank you for your continued patience and understanding.

The materials required to repair the leaking gates have now arrived. Our team will be transporting a boat to the site on Wednesday in preparation for the works. Repairs are expected to be completed by the end of Thursday, or early on Friday. Thank you for your patience and understanding while these works are carried out.

Our Engineers are continuing to look further into a solution for Copper Mill Lock's damage. Copper Mill lock is closed whilst a repair is sought, please moor up safely until further information becomes available. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Due to what appears to vandalism to the towpath ground paddle above Copper Mill Lock, the lock is no longer able to equalise. Engineers are in the process of determining what is required to fix the ground paddle. We will update this notice on Tuesday 21/04/2026.
