The ladder at Lock 3, Stanthorne Lock, is currently remains out of service due to damage.

A replacement ladder has been manufactured and is now with our contractors, and we are awaiting confirmation of the installation date.

There have been delays in the manufacture of the replacement ladder as these are still being made to order. This has affected the expected installation timeframe. Contractors are currently aiming to carry out the repair during the first week of April.

Our specialist contractors are currently experiencing a high volume of work, which has delayed their attendance at the site.

Unfortunately, our specialist contractors have experienced delays in sourcing the materials required to complete the repair to the lock ladder.

We apologise that the repair is taking longer than originally expected.

The ladder at Lock 3, Stanthorne Lock, on the Shropshire Union Canal is out of use due to the damage sustained. 

Contractors have been instructed to attend site and plan a method of repair. Whilst the contractors plan and carry out the repairs, access from the lock to the lock landing, via the ladder will not be available.
