Contractors working on behalf of Derbyshire County Council will be demolishing the existing West Park footbridge in preparation for the construction of a new bridge later this summer.  Derbyshire County Council have placed a temporary closure order on this section of the towpath, which is also public footpath No.33 from Monday 23rd February at 8am until Sunday 23rd August at 5pm.  There is a diversion route between Lawrence Street and the B6540 Tamworth Road.
