Further to the notice below, unfortunately, it is unlikely that Burghfield Lock 103 will reopen before the end of April.
We are currently awaiting the completed repair design, which will then be passed to our contractor so they can confirm costs and timescales.

Further to the notice below, the damage to the gate has now been assessed.
We are preparing to mobilise to site to remove the lift gate and carry out the repair work.

Further to the notice below, subsequent inspections of Lock 103 Burghfield Lock have identified that the gate is severely damaged below the waterline. As a result, the repair is not straightforward and is likely to require dewatering of the lock.
Our Engineering and Construction teams are still currently assessing feasible repair options.

Please be advised that due to impact damage to bottom gates, this lock is now closed.
Engineers will assess and work out a repair strategy on Monday the 19th. This notice will be updated once we have further information regarding the repair and associated timelines.
