Further to the notice below, please be advised that the dredging campaign currently taking place at Gloucester Docks, and from south of Llanthony Bridge to south of Monk Meadow, will continue throughout February 2026.
The works include dredging at moorings within the main dock, as well as additional dredging within the navigation channel.
Material will be removed using floating dredging equipment and unloaded within the docks.
During these operations, customers may experience short delays while the dredging team accommodates boat movements.
We kindly ask all customers to navigate through the working area with due care and to follow any instructions provided by the crew.

Further to the notice below, please be advised that the dredging campaign currently being carried out at Gloucester Docks and south of Llanthony bridge, to south of Monk Meadow will resume on the 5th January 2026. Material will be removed by floating dredging equipment with some material being unloaded in the docks, while other material will be taken by hopper barge to fields by Parkend Bridge. Moorings on the towpath side at Parkend Bridge on the Gloucester & Sharpness Canal will be suspended at the unloading point ( for 50m either side) for the duration of the works. Please be mindful that the dredging operation is in the navigation channel we ask that our customers be aware there may be some short delays while the dredging accommodates boat movements.

Please be advised that the dredging campaign currently being carried out at Gloucester Docks through the autumn has been extended, and will now include works south of Llanthony bridge.
Please be mindful that the dredging operation is in the navigation channel so there may be some short delays whilst the dredging accommodates boating customers movements.

Please be advised that dredging is to be carried out at Gloucester Docks through the autumn using floating plant, and materials taken off site.
During this period there may be some mooring restrictions to allow dredging throughout the dock area.
The canal navigation will remain open, subject to current opening times, however customers should be aware that they may experience short delays.
