The towpath remains closed between Bridge 1B (Lyons Bridge) and Lock 1 Poolstock Locks on the Leigh Branch of the Leeds & Liverpool Canal due to a partial collapse of a building owned by a third party.
We remain in contact with the local authority and relevant parties, and continue to attempt to contact the owners of the building to arrange the removal of debris from the collapsed building.
Navigation remains open, but please proceed through the area with caution, signage is in place for the short diversion.
We will provide a further update by Monday, 4 May.
