Please note that, due to safety concerns, the closure has been extended to cover the section of towpath between Water Links Bridge and Thimble Mill Lane Bridge, Aston. We are contacting our contractors and will provide an update as soon as further information becomes available.

Our team have attended the site, and the unsafe wall has collapsed, bringing down multiple trees. Specialist contractor removal will be required. Further updates will be provided once more information becomes available.

The towpath between Avenue Road Bridge and Rocky Lane Bridge remains closed due to an ongoing issue with the condition of an adjacent structure belonging to a third party. We are continuing to work with the relevant parties to progress the matter and move towards a resolution.

We've had to temporarily close the towpath between Avenue Road Bridge and Rocky Lane Bridge, Aston, on the Birmingham & Fazeley Canal. A third party wall has been deemed unsafe and in danger of collapsing, so we have taken the decision to close it immediately. We will endeavour to make contact with the owners of the wall, and we'll share any further updates as soon as we receive them.
