Please take extra care when navigating between Bridge 28 and Bridge 29 on the Ashton Canal. A third-party retaining wall has collapsed, resulting in debris being deposited on the offside of the navigation.
We are liaising with the third-party owner, who is conducting inspections and developing a plan for repairs.
Navigation remains open, but all boaters are politely requested to proceed through the affected area with caution.
An update will be provided as soon as further information becomes available.

Please be advised navigation remains restricted between Bridge 28, Margaret St Bridge and Bridge 29, Portland Street Footbridge on the Ashton Canal, due to a third-party collapsed retaining wall, which has resulted in debris deposited on the offside.
The third party owner is collating funds to carry out the initial inspections to be carried out by a Structural Surveyor.
Navigation will remain open, however we politely request all customers to navigate through the affected area with care.
An update will be provided as soon as further information is available.
