Description
Please be advised the towpath is currently closed between lock 71 and lock 73 on the Rochdale Canal due to subsidence.
The local team have attended site and installed signage for a diversion through Harmer Close and Ten Acre Lane.
A further update will be provided Monday 14 April.
Updates
We are pleased to advise the towpath is back open between Lock 71 and Lock 73 on the Rochdale Canal, now the team have added additional fencing around the subsidence, allowing for users to pass.

Our local team are working to establish a more permanent form of protection for the bank.
We politely ask all customer to follow the diversion signage through Harmer Close and Ten Acre Lane.
