Description
Please be advised that navigation will be temporarily closed at Lock 18 (Middle Lock) on the Trent & Mersey Canal in Fradley on Thursday 10th April for essential maintenance work. The closure will be in effect for 6 hours, from 6:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
The closure is necessary due to a significant leak at the top end cill, which is causing water management issues further upstream. The work will involve efforts to seal the leaks as effectively as possible.
We are scheduling the works at this early time to minimise disruption for boaters, and we aim to complete the work within the allocated 6-hour window, however we will update this notice is we are able to open navigation any earlier than this.

Updates
Navigation is back open as we have completed the works earlier than expected.The team made repairs to the top end gate & cill, significantly reducing the leakage where we were losing a lot of water. There is still some leakage but the water level should maintain itself with water coming down the T&M. Team will continue to monitor over the next week.
