Description
Third-party contractors are dredging a section of the Walsall Canal, which is currently closed to navigation.
The removed sediment will be offloaded at Ocker Hill using an excavator positioned at the back of the towpath between Tame Valley No. 2 Bridge, Ocker Hill, and Doe Bank Bridge, Ocker Hill. The excavator will reach over the towpath to remove sediment from the hoppers in the canal.
The towpath will remain open, with banksmen and signage in place as needed to manage operations and traffic.
Please note that the canal will remain closed until further notice.
