Description
Please be advised that contractor Horan Construction Ltd will be working on the canal towpath on behalf of Torfaen County Borough Council to deliver Active Travel Improvements.
The canal navigation will remain open but to facilitate the works there will be a towpath closure with a signed diversion in place from 10/2/25 to 1/4/25.
Construction work will comprise of the raising, widening and resurfacing of the existing towpath approaches and a Toucan crossing (includes cyclists) will replace the current Zebra crossing on South Street.
Safety guardrails and chicanes will be installed and the existing bench relocated closer to the bridge.

Further to the notice below, please be advised that due to unforeseen circumstances the works on the towpath have been slightly delayed and the towpath is closed until the 5th April 2025.
The towpath will be open for the local running event taking place on the 6th April 2025.
