Description
HS2 Limited have decided to proceed with the construction of a major structure over the canal, following delays earlier in 2024.
To undertake the works, a temporary narrowing of the canal is required. The navigable width will be a maximum of 5.5metres from the 8 January 2025 through to the 19 December 2025.
All users of the canal are required to slow down and pass through the restricted area with caution. Towpath users may be requested to wait for up to five minutes before passing through the area as they will need to be diverted onto a temporary floating pontoon.
Cyclists using the towpath are requested to dismount and not cycle along the pontoon.
