Description
Please can boaters be aware that low water levels above lock 8 and navigation is closed on this stretch of the canal.
We are monitoring the situation and this notice will be updated tomorrow by 4pm
Updates
Water levels have now returned to normal and navigation is now open.
9/7/2024We've completed scraping the head at Mayroyd and achieved a much better seal. While the pound is still low, it should recover by morning with the pump running.
For now, navigation remains closed until tomorrow morning, by which time we expect the water levels to return to normal.
