We are pleased to advise our specialist divers have successfully reinstalled both paddles with brand-new steel work and timber fabrication and Hunts Lock is now back open.

We would like to thank all our boating customers for their patience.

Both paddles required brand-new steel work and timber fabrication. Our teams have freshly crafted wooden parts to the paddles which are now complete and ready at the workshop. On Monday and Tuesday, they'll be carefully added to the new steel framework, with our specialist divers scheduled to reinstall everything on Wednesday.

We remain committed to getting things back in action as swiftly as possible and will provide another update on Wednesday, 11th September,

We truly appreciate your support and understanding as we work hard to get everything back up and running.

Today, divers and our teams were on-site to attempt repairs at Hunts Lock. Unfortunately, both paddles were found to be in a much worse state than anticipated and had to be removed. We are now arranging for them to be taken to the workshop for extensive repairs.

As a result, the lock will remain closed. We will provide a further update by Friday 6th September or sooner, by which time we hope to have a better understanding of the repair timescales.

Unfortunately the repairs have been delayed at Hunts Lock due to specialist divers are unavailable until Monday 2 September, and as a result, we need to keep the lock closed.
