Description
Please be advised Severn Trent Water have identified a leak within a pipe, which crosses the Oxford Canal through the bridge deck at Crick Road Bridge.
Currently there is a large volume of water, exiting from the bridge abutments, both on the towpath and offside of the canal. Consequently the towpath is flooded in areas, requiring care to be taken when passing through the bridge hole. At present, there are no other concerns regarding this structure.
Severn Trent Water are liaising with the local highways authority, to plan the repair of the damaged pipe. A further update will be provided once information has been received from Severn Trent Water. In the meantime, please take care while passing.
Updates
We're pleased to advise that Seven Trent Water have now carried out repairs to a water pipe under the pavement on the bridge & excess water has been removed from the towpath.
