Description
Please be advised that the River Lee navigation is closed at Stanstead Lock 4 due to gate damage. An update will be sent once a full assessment has been made.
Updates
Remedial works have now been completed and Navigation is open.
8/23/2024A safe method of working has now been agreed with a plan in place to lift the displaced top gate back into position at Lock 4, Stanstead Lock.
To carry out the repair work, a third-party crane boat needs to be lifted into the water, upstream of the displaced lock. Our contractors have been working hard with third party landowners to find a suitable location to deploy the floating plant needed to safely deliver the repair.
We will share further updates on this notice when they become available.
