Description
We're having to carry out repairs at Atherstone Lock 8 on Wednesday 4th September. The bottom end gates are dragging on the bottom of the canal, due to debris & silt inside the lock. The gates are now being held slightly ajar and boats are squeezing though. Work is required to remove the silt & debris from the lock, so that the gates open as normal again.
Works will take place Wednesday 4th September from 6am to 12noon. If we're able to open navigation any earlier than midday, we'll update the notice.

We've made the decision to also close the towpath whilst the team complete the works to ensure the safety of the public.
