Description
Please be advised the buffer plate at Lock 42 towpath side on the Trent & Mersey Canal, has been damaged causing the buffer plate to come off and expose the bracket.
Our local team are aware and working with engineers on a method of repair.
Navigation will remain open, however, we politely request all boaters to navigate through the Lock with care.
An update will be provided by Thursday 22 August.
Updates
As a result of the works involved, the repair to the buffer plate at Lock 42 towpath side on the Trent & Mersey Canal due to the essential repairs which are required, our local engineers have scheduled for the works to be included in our Winter Works Programme commencing 17.02.2025 until 28.02.2025.
While our teams make plans for the winter works navigation will remain open, at Lock 42 offside while Lock 42 towpath side has been closed.
