Description
Due to damage to the bridge deck on Plank Lane Lift Bridge on the Leigh Branch of the Leeds and Liverpool Canal, we need to reduce the operation of the bridge to allow our teams to install a road plate that will protect the bridge from further damage.
To ensure the bridge operates safely, our teams will need to remove the plate to allow boats to pass. We plan to do this daily at 10 am. We request that boats wishing to pass through the bridge are ready to travel at this time.
The required repairs will involve specialist fabricators working on-site, and we are currently working with our contractors to design the necessary repair.
A further update will be provided by 13th August.
We would like to thank our boating customers for their patience. If you have any further questions about these works, please contact our regional team on 03030 404040, selecting North West
