Description
Marsworth flight closed due to a damaged lock gate causing failure of Lock 44. Flight closed from Lock 39 to 45. The nearest winding hole to lock 45 is Bridge 133 Bulbourne. The nearest winding point to lock 39 is Marsworth yard Junction to Aylesbury arm. Assessments will be made and notice will be updated after this time.
Updates
The issue has been resolved and the flight is now open for passage.
8/23/2024Be advised that due to Team Shortage on Saturday (17th August) the lock will only be manned and available for assisted passage between the hours of 12:00pm and 2:00pm.
8/16/2024Update: Due to a change in Plant Delivery Logistics, this repair will now take place on the 22/08/2024.
We'll continue to update this notice with more information as the works progress.
8/15/2024Please note that the limit for the Beam limit of Vessels passing through is 6ft 6 max not 6 foot as previously mentioned.
8/13/2024Be advised that on Saturday (27/07) the lock will only be manned and available for assisted passage between the hours of 0900 and 1200
7/24/2024amendment to the previous update:
The lock will be open for assisted passage for narrowboats between the hours of 0900 & 1500. Outside of these hours locks 40 and 45 will be locked up. This section remains closed to widebeam craft (all craft over 6ft wide) until further notice.
