Description
Please be advised third-party contractors will be onsite at Bridge 129A on the Lancaster Canal to carry out works to replace and upgrade the bridge parapets.
To be able to carry out these works, scaffolding will be installed to the bridge.
Whilst both the towpath and navigation will remain open, customers may be asked to wait no longer than 30 minutes to allow the third-party contractors make way for a safe passage.
We politely request all customers to approach the area with caution and listen to any advice that may be given by the third-party contractors on site.
Updates
Third party works are progressing well at Bridge 129A on the Lancaster Canal, unfortunately the works are taking longer than expected to replace and upgrade the bridge parapets.
The additional work will be extended by 4 weeks, working towards completion for Friday 28 February, but will mitigate the requirement for an additional stoppage and minimise the disruption to our customers.
