Description
Please be advised the buffer plate on Lock 72 on the Trent & Mersey Canal, has been damaged and removed.
Our local team are aware and is working with engineers on a method of repair.
Navigation will remain open, however, we politely request all boaters to navigate through the Lock with care.
An update will be provided Monday 15 July.

We are pleased to advise that the works to repair the damaged buffer plate has been completed and navigation has resumed, at Lock 72, on the Trent & Mersey Canal.
8/13/2024Please be advised we are continuing to work with our engineers to carry out the repairs and re-installation of the damaged buffer plate on Lock 72 on the Trent & Mersey Canal which our team have removed from the lock chamber.
We politely request all boaters to navigate through the Lock with care.
An update will be provided Tuesday 13 August.
