Description
Contractors working at the hydro plant close to Thrybergh weir will be lowering the river level upstream of the weir by approximately 150mm for maintenance purposes.
The drawdown will commence on Wednesday 31st July at 07:00hrs, or as soon after as circumstances permit. This is to carry out their annual inspection and cleaning of the fish and eel pass as required by the EA abstraction licence. Liberty Steel will also be carrying out some maintenance on their intake at the same time.
The works will be dependant on weather conditions, any changes to the program will be added to this notice.
The drawdown is expected to be completed and water levels returned to normal by 17:00hrs
Water levels from Swinton Lock to Aldwarke Lock will be affected throughout the drawdown period.
Skippers of all craft are advised to exercise extra caution while navigating in this area

We have been informed that these works are slightly delayed and will now commence on the 1st August.
