Description
Please be advised that important repair works are due to commence at Sellars Bridge, which carries Sellars Road over the Gloucester & Sharpness Canal.
The works are planned to take place between 22 July and 30 August.
The planned work includes repairs to the bridge bearing, abutments, and road plate, and we will be making improvements to reduce the noise of road traffic when using the bridge.
A road closure will be in place for vehicles and pedestrians.
Pedestrians will be able to use the nearby Rea Swing Bridge, and we have worked with Gloucestershire Highways to create a diversion route for traffic.
The navigation will remain open for boats throughout.
We recognise the inconvenience that will result from the road closure and will endeavour to be as efficient as possible and will re-open the bridge as soon as we are able.

Updates
Further to the notice below, the works today (Monday 12th August) require the bridge to be in the closed position.
Boats with an air draft of less than 2.7m will be able to navigate as usual.
