Description
Between the 20th May and the 28th June, contractors J Anderson & Son Limited on behalf of Cadent will be undertaking urgent safety works to the overhead Gas pipe bridge, at Lock 16 on the Northampton Arm, near to W3W https://w3w.co/oldest.hooked.blank
These works will require the structure to be scaffolded for access, which means boaters may experience some delays of up to 30 minutes during the erection and dismantling operations of the scaffolding.
Please follow advice from the contractors on site, who will be assisting with safe passage.
The towpath will remain open during this time.
Updates
J Anderson & Son Limited on behalf of Cadent have extended these works to the overhead Gas Pipe Bridge, at Lock 16.
This extension is so they can carry out some additional refurbishment works and the work is expected to run until 2nd January 2025.
Please follow advice from the contractors on site, who will be assisting with safe passage.
The towpath will remain open during this time.
7/30/2024Contractors J Anderson & Son Limited on behalf of Cadent have had to extend the urgent safety works to the overhead Gas Pipe Bridge, at Lock 16.
They now aim to be completed by the 2nd August. This is to allow to for a structural survey of the gas pipe bridge while the scaffolding is in place, and depending what they find, this may create additional work.
Boaters may experience some delays of up to 30 minutes during the erection and dismantling of the scaffolding.
