Following a review of the project and by working closely with the Third Party, the wall repairs will be undertaken as a restriction from the 3 April 2025.

The navigational width will be restricted to 3.50m due to a pontoon being in the navigation. These works will last for 7 weeks meaning the navigation will be fully open on the 23 May 2025.

Alongside this, for a period of a week, starting from the 1 April we will have contractors working on the opposite side of the navigation. There will be a crane boat and barge moored up, so we ask customers to please approach with caution and expect delays of up to 30 minutes whilst we make the site safe for passage through.

We will continue to work closely with the third party to make every effort to reduce this restriction period where we can and will update further if the timescale for the work reduces.

After works by the third party started on site it became clear that more of the wall was damaged than was originally thought. This means more of the wall has had to be taken down and will now need rebuilding.

Unfortunately, this means the closure will need to be extended to the 9 April to facilitate these works. We have worked with the third party contractors who will focus on rebuilding the wall up to normal water line to allow the closure to be lifted.

Once the navigation has been rewatered the other part of the wall rebuild will then continue under a navigation width restriction with a potential 20 mins delay whilst we move equipment out of the way.

We are working closely with the third party contractors who are working extended hours to complete these works and will continue to do so in the hope that we can bring this closure forward.
