The towpath remains closed just above Bridge 6 to Bridge 9.

The Earth Structures team have been out and have advised on the scope for repairs. Works will take place within this year.

We haven't received a more specific timeframe for when works can begin yet, but we'll update this notice as soon as we receive this information.

The local team are continuing to monitor the slip for movement. We kindly remind boaters to take care if passing through this section.

The towpath remains closed here. A visit with the earth structures team is being arranged for this week, and a repair plan should be in place following this visit.

We'll provide a further update as soon as we receive details of the repair plan.

The towpath will need to remain closed until further notice. The bedrock in the towpath has fractured, requiring emergency work to remove and rebuild the towpath. While the team come up with an emergency repair plan, we'll continue to monitor the slip for movement. In the meantime, we kindly remind boaters to please slow down if passing the section. Signage and barriers are in place and the slip area has been taped off.

While it's too early to provide a date for re-opening, we should hopefully have a repair plan in place soon and be able to provide a further update, on or before Monday 15th April.

The local Operations team are continuing to monitor the crack. Please can we ask boaters to slow down when approaching to prevent any further damage to the towpath.

Our Engineers will be attending Wednesday 27th March, so we should be able to provide a further update then.
