Description
From March 18th to November 1st 2024 Tuel Lane will be working on a summer timetable.
A Canal & River Trust lock keeper is present on the following days:
Friday, Saturday, Sunday & Monday between the dates above (No booking required).
On Friday and Mondays, the operating times for Tuel lock are first boat entry at 8.00am with last entry at 3:00pm, on Saturdays and Sundays first passage is 10am.
An online booking system is in operation for passage on Wednesdays.
Passage between 10:00am and 3:00pm
To make a booking, please sign into the online licensing pages and click on 'my boats', followed by the 'bookings' section.

It is essential that anyone requiring passage during this time books at least 48 hours in advance to ensure we will have a Canal & River Trust lock keeper onsite.
Tuel Lock (Lock 3/4), Sowerby Bridge is operated by a Canal & River Trust lock keeper. Please follow the local signage and the lock keeper's instructions.
Do not enter the tunnel (below lock 3/4) before contacting the lock keeper.
Locks 1 and 3/4 will be padlocked outside of the normal entry hours specified above.
