Description
The offside parapet of bridge Deepdale Bridge 17 on the T&M has been struck by a vehicle.
The local team has made an initial assessment and the Bridge does not appear unstable. However, there may be some underwater obstructions as a result of the accident and so boaters are asked to proceed with care.
We are planning the repairs but we do not yet have a time scale for when the work will take place.
We will update this notice by the 9th February or as soon as we have further information.
Updates
We have established that while there is some brickwork in the canal, it is not within the main navigation.
Work to repair the bridge parapet is currently being considered within our plans for 2025.
Until the work take places, we will continue to monitor the bridge's condition through our twice monthly inspection process.
