Updates

Repairs are expected to be completed to the bank and lock landing immediately below Blue Bank Lock next week. Therefore the navigation will be open for boat traffic from 8am Wednesday 17th April, although the towpath will remain closed. Contractors will be carrying out further repairs to the bank; boaters are requested to pass slowly and follow any directions from the contractors on site. Further updates with regards the repairs can be found by following the link below - Notices and stoppages | Canal & River Trust (canalrivertrust.org.uk)

4/11/2024

Assisted passage will remain in place between Kings Lock and Blue Bank Lock until 10th April while repairs are being made to the lock landing area.

When our contractors have finished work in this area they will move onto repairs away from the lock. At that point it is hoped we can remove the need for booked passage, although boaters will need to pass the area as directed by contactors.

Assisted passage is available at 12pm on each planned Wednesday for up to four boats, pre-booking is required.

A member of staff will embark each boat as a pilot for the passage. Please follow any instructions as they assist you through the pound and locks.

To book your passage please contact enquiries.eastmidlands@canalrivertrust.org.uk or call on 0303 040 4040 (option 2 then 5).

We would be grateful if any bookings for a Wednesday could be made with us by 1pm on the Tuesday so we can plan the required resource to assist you.

Please do not approach either lock until after your booking has been confirmed.
