Description
Please be advised, navigation is currently closed from Lock 1 to Lock 6 on the Glasson Branch of the Lancaster Canal due to vandalism.
Our local team are currently carrying out remedial repairs to the lock flight and an update will be provided by Friday 6 October.

Please be advised, the offside paddle at Lock 2 on the Glasson Branch remains out of use whilst we continue to prioritise emergency works required along the Lancaster Canal.
Whilst the offside paddle at Lock 2 remains out of use, navigation is still possible using the towpath side paddle only.

12/4/2023Please be advised, due arising emergency works along the Lancaster Canal, works to repair the offside paddle at Lock 2 on the Glasson Branch have been further delayed.

11/27/2023Please be advised, due to the continuous rainfall and high-water levels, works to repair the offside paddle at Lock 2 on the Glasson Branch have been further deferred.
Whilst the offside paddle at Lock 2 remains out of use, navigation is still possible using the towpath side paddle only.
Our local operations team will continue to monitor the situation and a further update will be provided by Monday 27 November.
11/17/2023Due to the recent rainfall increasing the water levels, we have deferred the works to repair the offside paddle at Lock 2 on the Glasson Branch to next week.
Please be advised whilst the offside paddle at Lock 2 remains out of use, navigation is still possible using the towpath side paddle only.

Works to repair the offside paddle are anticipated to take place next week and a further update will be provided by Friday 10 November.

10/11/2023We are pleased to navigation has resumed between Lock 1 and Lock 6 on the Glasson Branch of the Lancaster Canal.
Please note, the offside paddle at Lock 2 is currently out of use whilst we organise the repair. Navigation is still possible using the towpath side paddle only.
