Description
Construction works in connection with the upgrading of approximately 9km length of towpath and towpath access points on the Trent & Mersey Canal, Burton, between Bridge 35 and Aqueduct 23 (Dove Aqueduct).
Works will be delivered progressively in a phased programme.
Works will be undertaken by our contractor CPC Civils. Where possible, the towpath will be kept open with towpath users diverted around the works. Work will be delivered to a linear rolling programme, which aims to contain works within as short a section as is practicably possible.
Updates
Our contractors have made good progress, and the main towpath works are now complete. However, the recent bad weather has caused the programme to be extended until 23rd May. The contractor will continue to keep the towpath open as far as possible.
