Description
A stoppage is required to construct a new bridge over the canal, this is to replace the one that was previously removed.
Updates
Due to challenges on site with utilities and encroachment onto our land from adjacent owners, it will not be possible to get the works at Reeds Bridge completed as planned. We have been reviewing options for solving the issues on site, however, it is now not possible to undertake and complete works before the end of the stoppage season. We will return to site in the winter of 2024/25 to install the replacement bridge.
2/22/2024We are pleased to advise, after reviewing the construction programme, that the first part of the work can be done in December 2023 without closing the navigation – allowing this navigational closure to be shortened to three months rather than four. This means the new closure dates are from the 2nd January 2024 through to the 15th March 2024.
