Description
A restriction is required to carry out some repair works to the lock. Resin grouting will be put behind the lock walls to fill up any voids and prevent deterioration of the lock structure.
We will have a small pontoon in the lock during these works, so customers may experience delays of up to an hour.
Updates
We would like to inform our customers of an additional stoppage at Lock 6 Woodnook Lock on the Wakefield Branch. Unfortunately, the contractors are unable to commence the works at the originally advertised date due to being held up at emergency grouting works on the Rochdale, which are taking longer than expected. We apologise for any inconvenience caused. The canal will remain closed from 23 February 2024 through to 15 March 2024
2/22/2024Due to a change in scope, these works need to be changed to a stoppage rather than a restriction. We have explored all alternative options, but in order to complete the works in the quickest time possible, the navigation will need to be closed at Lock 6, Woodnook Lock between the 19 Feb 2024 through to the 08 March 2024. This means that the navigation can open a week earlier than originally planned. We apologise for the inconvenience this will cause to our customers.
