Description
A Canal & River Trust lock keeper is present on the following days:
Friday, Saturday, Sunday & Monday between the dates above (No booking required). On those days, the operating times for Tuel lock are first boat entry at 8.00am with last passage at 4:00pm, except for Sunday where first passage is 10am.
An online booking system is in operation for passage on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Passage between 09:00am and 3:00pm
To make a booking, please sign into the online licensing pages and click on 'my boats', followed by the 'bookings' section.

It is essential that anyone requiring passage during this time books at least 24 hours in advance to ensure we will have a Canal & River Trust lock keeper onsite.
Tuel Lock (Lock 3/4), Sowerby Bridge is operated by a Canal & River Trust lock keeper. Please follow the local signage and the lock keeper's instructions.
Do not enter the tunnel (below lock 3/4) before contacting the lock keeper.
Locks 1 and 3/4 will be padlocked outside of the normal entry hours specified above.
